Wellington (New Zealand) | Jagran Trending Desk: The world heaved a sigh of relief when, ahead of most of the world, Jacinda Ardern-led New Zealand declared itself COVID-19 free on June 8, though soon it got untagged due to the influx of foreign returnees in the country resulting in the confirmation of some coronavirus infections.

“I danced a little,” Jacinda was quoted as saying while expressing herself to the news of the country’s last COVID-19 patient recovering from the virus.

Now, an old video of New Zealand Prime Minister has started to make rounds on social media, earning Ardern incredible admiration with strokes of praises from all over the world, including India. In November 2019, famous American comedian Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central’s ‘Late Show’ visited New Zealand. As Colbert stepped his feet on the land of Kiwis, he was taken aback by shock.

Apparently, Stephen had requested for a pickup from the airport on the pretext of interviewing Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in an episode of ‘Late Show’. However, Colbert’s receiver at the airport was no ordinary New Zealander. It was Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern herself, who welcomed ‘The Late Show’ host into her country and drove him to his place of stay.

“I am a woman, I multi-task,” Jacinda responded on Stephen’s query, as how did she extract time to pick him up at from her busy schedule.

New Zealand is being globally praised for its handling of COVID pandemic, with the country managing to declare itself COVID-19 free on June 8. The country, comparable to the north-eastern state of Tripura in terms of population, has since then identified a few COVID clusters in its cities, which currently have 18 active coronavirus cases. Most of these are the returnees from the foreign countries.
