New Delhi | Jagran Trending Desk: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi on Friday became father to a baby girl and he now has five daughters. The former all-rounder took to Twitter to share the news with his fans. In the picture, Afridi can be seen with his four daughters along with newborn.

“The Almighty’s infinite blessings & mercy are upon me…already having been granted 4 wonderful daughters I have now been blessed with a 5th, Alhamdulillah. Sharing this good news with my well-wishers… #FourbecomeFive,” he wrote on the popular micro-blogging site.

While some of his followers congratulated him, netizens were quick to raise the issue of population control and his 'desire' to have a son.

A twitter user wrote, "When will you understand to control the population in Pakistan 4 daughter's were not enough ? Or just to get the male child you will make a girl's cricket team ?? If you want more children adopt some orphan and give them good life."

"Your city has reached the threshold of dying in the dying of hunger and you are launching the product? Do 5 more now and prepare the team and make U19. Well done!" wrote another user.

The cricketer has featured in 524 matches across all formats for Pakistan.
