Bhansali on Monday was summoned by Mumbai Police in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. According to a report by The Times of India, the filmmaker was questioned for around two hours by the police and was asked 20 questions which were prepared by the investigation team.

As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Bhansali’s statement was “centered around his conversation with Sushant after the film/s fell through because of the earlier contractual conditions”.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death:

Sushant Singh Rajput had committed suicide on June 14 at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. According to reports, the 34-year-old was suffering from depression from the last six months. The police, meanwhile, had denied chances of foul play in his death and Rajput’s postmortem report of Rajput cited asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of his death.

The police, however, had said that will probe into the alleged cause of ‘clinical depression owing to the professional rivalry’ behind Rajput’s death. “Bandra police has recorded statements of 27 people so far in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. We've got his detailed post-mortem report and doctors have clearly mentioned asphyxia due to hanging as cause of his death,” Maharashtra Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe had said earlier.
