New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Sara Ali Khan's third release, after the success of Simmba and Kedarnath, "Love Aaj Kal 2" had to taste lemons at the box office. The romantic drama was not at all liked by the people and the burden was pushed over Sara's acting.
Director Imtiaz Ali tried to revive the 2009 love story which was a hit then. Back in 2009, Deepika Padukone and Sara’s father Saif Ali Khan had shared the screen in the movie. As Sara’s film failed to gather appreciations, Saif Ali Khan has said that he asked Sara that whether she was okay?
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Saif said that he had to enquire about it as this was Sara’ first bitter confrontation in the industry.
“I did message her and ask if she’s alright. Of course, it’s a romantic and nice fatherly notion (to hold your daughter’s hand through hardships), but I don’t think it’s really needed. I think she’s quite tough and smart and she gets it. And I told her, ‘you have to go through this,” he said in his interview with Chopra.
When Saif was questioned about the primary reason why Sara chose this movie he said, “You must have liked something, you might have liked someone; the director or the producer. Not much has to go wrong for it to go wrong... You have to keep working through it.”
Sara's previous movie Simmba, staring her with Ranveer Singh, was an absolute hit in the theatres. The actress, who has been known for her genuine answers, will hopefully take the criticism with positivity. Sara soon will be seen in another remake of one of the legendary Bollywood movies -- Coolie. The remake is titled as Coolie No. 1, starring Varun Dhawan as the lead actor.
The David Dhawan movie was earlier scheduled to be released on May 1 but due to the pandemic fans will have to hold on for some time, looking at the present conditions in India and the world it is very hard to commit dates of release any soon.
