New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Rapper Raftaar has taken a stand for Neha Dhupia, his co-judge in TV show Roadies. He spoke about how the people who are feeling liberated after widely trolling Neha Dhupia over the internet for one of her statements to a fellow contestant and are no different.
In an interview with Hungama, Raftaar defended Neha by making the troller stand in the dock, Raftaar said, “What is the difference? She abused the boy and everyone else abused her. c (Chinappa) Sir did not abuse anyone but everyone abused him. So what changed? It’s just action and reaction. If you pay attention, whatever is happening is not bringing any change.”
The controversy fostered from the TV show MTV Roadies Revolution, where judge/ gang-leader Neha Dhupia bashed a contestant who told that he had slapped his girlfriend as she was cheating on him by being engaged with five other guys. On this, Neha Dhupia lost her cool and abused the guy for slapping his girlfriend saying, “it is her choice if she wants to stay with five other guys”.
In the interview, Raftaar said that the contestant was not at all guilty for the violence and that pinch everyone, including Neha, hence she broke out.
Neha was widely trolled over the internet, not for days but weeks, amid that 'her choice memes,' started flooding on social media. Dupia later took a stand for herself and confronted the trollers on social media.
“Roadies is a show that I have been a part of for five years and enjoyed every bit of it. It takes me all over India and gives me the opportunity to team up with absolute rock stars from all parts of the country. What I do not like or accept is what is happening for more than two weeks now! Recently during one of the episodes that aired, I took a stand against violence,” she had said.
Neha further talked about how this has affected her whole family. “Sadly, as a reaction to my opinion, I have been subjected to weeks of vitriol. One of my posts had over 56k comments! Yet I was silent but now people close to me who have nothing to do with this - my family, my friends, my co-workers, and even my dad’s personal WhatsApp are being flooded with abuses and harassment. My daughter’s page is nothing less than a barrage of abuses and this is not acceptable to me,” She said.
