New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: New Zealand batsman Leo Carter on Sunday became the seventh batsmen in cricket history to slam siz sixes in an over. The 25-year-old achieved the feat while batting for Canterbury against northern Knights in New Zealand's domestic tournament Super Smash. He went after left-arm spinner Anton Devcich in the 16th over, scoring maximum runs that can be scored off legal deliveries in an over. Carter went on to score a sensational 70 runs knock off just 29 deliveries, which included seven sixes and helped his side chase a total of 220 runs with seven wickets in hand.

Among male players, Hazratullah Zazai (Afghanistan), Ross Whiteley (England, Yuvraj Singh (India), Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa), Ravi Shastri (India) and Gary Sobers (West Indies) have achieved the feat of slamming consecutives sixes of all deliveries in an over.

In the match, Knights posted a huge total of 219 runs after sent in to bat first. Opener Tim Seifert (74) and Dean Brownlie (55) slammed their half-centuries and put on a 119 runs partnership for the second wicket. Later Brett hampton played a cameo of 12-ball 22 runs to help his side cross 200-run mark.

In reply, Canterbury went off a positive start as openers Chad Bowes (57) and Jack Boyle (23) added 64 runs for the opening wicket. After a cheap dismissal of Stephen Murdoch, Carter arrived at the crease and change the prospect of the game. What seemed like an evident loss for his side, turned into victory in just one over. Carter was well supported by McConchie who scored 49 runs off just 25 balls.
